On May 26, 2016, 350,000 evangelical Christians marched in the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil in what has been deemed the “largest Christian event in the world,” “March for Jesus.”
The Associated Press reports:
Tens of thousands of evangelical Christians are taking part in Brazil’s “March for Jesus,” an annual event that unites faithful from hundreds of Protestant churches in a country that is largely Roman Catholic.
The police department and the march’s organizers have no immediate crowd estimates. The Reborn in Christ Church that has organized the march for the past 24 years says it expects more people than last year, when police said close to 350,000 people participated.
Organizers have described the march as the “largest Christian event in the world.”
The large crowd gathered behind 10 sound trucks and marched nearly 3 miles (5 kilometers) to a downtown square to attend religious music shows that are expected to last well into the night.
Brazil is predominately Roman Catholic, but the march seemed to emphasize unity among Protestant Christians.
The event was organized by Reborn in Christ Church. March for Jesus began in London in 1987 and has now been celebrated in several countries around the world.
Bishop Fernada Hernandes Rasmussen said in an interview on the official website of the event, “We can say that March for Jesus is an event for the family! It’s the biggest popular manifestation in world! It’s the people of God’s party. We have to celebrate that we have freedom to show our faith! March day is an opened skies day. Is living the happiness, that is Christ salvation in us!”
“Today, if you need a way, know that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life,” Apostle Estevam Hernandes added. “He is here. Because of that, if you let Jesus Christ enter in your heart, He will transform the history of your life. Don’t let your future uncertain. Give all your ways to Jesus…this March would have no sense if it hadn’t salvation!”
“I’m so full of the Presence of God, I saw women that for the last time go to the march sterile, I saw homes being restored. Jesus is in this place,” said Bishop Sonia Hernandez. “I’m very grateful, and I know what I’m saying, I cannot describe the extension, but I know that the Lord marked lives in a way that I’ve never seen in any march,” she said.
Just days later, it was reported that nearly two million people marched in Sao Paulo in the20th parade to promote the lawlessness of sodomites. They chanted such slogans as, “Gender Identity Law now! – Everyone together against trans-phobia.”
In commenting on what took place, Theodore Shoebat made a point that Christians in America would do well to heed.
“One of the most evil things that man can do, is to secularize the spiritual war between good and evil,” he wrote. When I first began being active in the defensive for Christianity, I was not really that aware of the secularist infiltration and in inundation of the Conservative movement. The more I read the Scriptures, the writings of the Church Fathers and the literature of the pioneers of Conservatism — such as Joseph de Maistre and Rene de Chatauebriand — the more I began to cultivate an awareness of how evil the modern conservative movement has become. It is filled with heretics, perverts and sodomites, all in the name of ‘fighting Islam.’”
“An absolute reprobate will arise and people will flock to him because he (or she) is ‘against Islam,’” he continued. “All of the atheist activists that Christians keep going against all claim to be against Nazism, should we then embrace anyone because they are against Nazism? All of the wicked modernists claim to be anti-rape. Should we then say, ‘Hey, lets unite with these people!” ‘But they hate God!’ ‘But they are anti-rape!’ This is the strategy of the modern day conservative. They have taken Islam and have centralized it so much into our focus, that all other forms of evil are now considered allies. I have been told that I am a hindrance to the ‘counter-jihad movement’ for my militant Christian position. Well, I’ve never claimed to be ‘counter-jihad,’ I am counter-evil. I am against all forms of evil, be it Islam, modernism, atheism, deism, heresy, darwinism, and every other ‘ism’ that has been released from the influence of the fallen angels. We are here to destroy evil, not to make a sectarian anti-Islam movement where secularism is allowed only. Death to evil, death to secularism. The unity of all Christians, under the zeal of the militant spirit, will be the point from which Christendom will arise.”
The people of God take a stand, and then the enemies of God take a stand. While the numbers may seem overwhelmingly in the favor of the sodomites and their supporters in these two parades, remember that God does not require a majority to prevail, but only a small minority who are willing to stand on His side (Exodus 32:26; 1 Samuel 17; Genesis 6-7; Judges 7). Make no mistake, we are at war.
Well done, my brothers and sisters! Stand strong!
