Alex Jones Issues Official Statement On Sandy Hook & Roku Ban

Internet sensation Alex Jones of Infowars, despite breaking many stories the mainstream media still won’t touch, was castigated during the 2016 election for his comments and questioning of Sandy Hook.  As a result, he became a target of social media giants, which inevitably swelled his ranks.  Two years later, he is still plugging along, but a day after his channel appeared on the popular streaming service Roku, it was pulled.  Now, Jones has issued an official statement on why Roku banned Infowars and the issue of Sandy Hook.  Whether you like Jones or not is irrelevant here.  This is a good reminder about why censorship of those questioning the official narrative given to the American people by corrupt politicians and state-controlled media is a really bad idea.

Roku made the announcement on Tuesday evening.

“After the InfoWars channel became available, we heard from concerned parties and have determined that the channel should be removed from our platform. Deletion from the channel store and platform has begun and will be completed shortly,” the service tweeted, which will almost assuredly leading to subscribers canceling their subscriptions (I canceled mine).

The Washington Post reported that “Roku even heard from lawyers representing the families of Sandy Hook victims, who say they continue to be threatened and harassed thanks to the Infowars-spread conspiracy theory that the 2012 massacre that killed 27 people, including 20 children, didn’t happen.”

WAPO added, “What might have been the final push, however, came from the lawyers representing the families of the Sandy Hook victims who are suing Jones. Last week, a Connecticut judge ruled those families can review Infowars’ internal marketing and financial documents. The families accuse Infowars of profiting from paranoia to sell more products to Jones’s followers, according to the complaint.”

And yet, as of yet, Jones has not been found liable for anything they are claiming.

WAPO added:

“There is no amount of anticipated revenue that could possibly justify Roku’s calculated decision,” attorney Josh Koskoff said in a statement to the media. Mark Bankston, another lawyer for Sandy Hook families, described Roku as “indifferent to the suffering caused by Mr. Jones’s continued onslaught of cruelty and reckless lies.”

These families have to know that if they actually go to court in the matter it will open up a host of discovery to Jones, something that would be valuable to the American people seeking answers to questions regarding Sandy Hook that remain unanswered more than six years after the fact, which is why I presume the families will never go through with any lawsuit, but were more than happy to jump on the political agenda to violate the rights of law-abiding American citizens to keep and bear arms.

At the time of the WAPO piece, Alex Jones had not responded to the Roku ban, but has done so on camera.  He starts with why it all became an issue and it was brought about by Hillary Clinton and John Podesta ahead of the 2016 presidential election in an attempt to smear then-candidate Donald Trump, of whom Jones is a huge supporter.

Take a listen.
