Bernie Sanders was certainly riding high in the early stages of the 2020 election.
As the “big name” candidate he was, (before Joe Biden arrived and stole his thunder), Sanders seemed eager to get on with what he thought would be an inevitable matchup against Donald Trump. Certainly, the rigged 2016 primaries had left a bad taste in his mouth, and the mouths of his supporters, who saw 2020 as a chance at redemption.
That is not the way things are shaping up now, however.
Joe Biden’s meteoric impact on the race had not only put Sanders in the number two slot immediately, but the subsequent attempts by Sanders to gain traction in Biden’s wake have culminated in the Vermont Senator admitting to some downright dumbfounding policy positions.

The first of these came during a town hall even on television in which Sanders admitted that he would like to restore the right to vote to incarcerated felons…including terrorists.
Now the democratic socialist has another wild hair to share.
Sanders had the following to say during an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360:
suspect that a lot of people in the country would be delighted to pay more in taxes if they had comprehensive health care as a human right. I live 50 miles away from the Canadian border. You go to the doctor any time you want. You don’t take ought your wallet. You have heart surgery, you have a heart transplant, and you come out of the hospital, and it costs you nothing. Your kids in many countries around the world can go to the public colleges and universities tuition-free, wages in many cases are higher. So there is a tradeoff, but at the end of the day, I think, that most people will believe they will be better off when their kids have educational opportunities without out-of-pocket expenses and when they have healthcare as a human right, and they have affordable housing, when they have decent retirement security, I think most Americans will understand that is a good deal.
“Delighted” to pay more taxes?
