Bloomberg Campaign Adds to Hillary Speculation with Latest Hire

Hillary Clinton seems destined to play a role in the 2020 election, one way or another, and the latest rumors about her possibly entry to the race have just gotten a bit juicier.

Last week it was reported that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was considering adding Clinton to his ticket as a Vice Presidential candidate.  This would be an earth-shattering revelation for the Democratic Party, who are seemingly controlled by entrenched Clinton advocates, but supported by a radical base who loathe her.

Bloomberg’s campaign was quick to downplay the rumors, lending some credibility to the idea that the “news” was nothing more than a fishing expedition to determine if the possibility was going to sit well with the left’s voters.

But then, over the weekend, the idea of Hillary joining Mayor Mike’s ticket started to look positively probable.

After the news broke on Saturday that internal polling found that a Bloomberg-Clinton ticket “would be a formidable force” to try to take down President Trump, Bloomberg tweeted, “I would not be where I am today without the talented women around me. I’ve depended on their leadership, their advice and their contributions.”

Now Page Six can reveal that Bloomberg has tapped DC-based Marshall, who was President Bill Clinton’s White House social secretary from 1997 to 2001. Under the Obama administration, she served as chief of protocol of the United States — a sensitive diplomatic position bearing the rank of ambassador — from 2009 to 2013.

Prior to that, Marshall was a special assistant to Hillary when she was first lady in 1993. In 2006, Marshall worked on then-Sen. Hillary Clinton’s re-election and then joined her presidential campaign in 2008. In her role as senior adviser, she led surrogate speakers and helped coordinate women’s outreach. She also appears throughout the new Hulu docuseries about Hillary.

The angst directed toward Clinton stems from her 2016 collusion with the DNC, in which the two worked together to thwart the Bernie Sanders campaign in the Democratic primaries.  The mass exodus of radical leftists from the party then allowed Donald Trump to electorally annihilate Clinton in the general election, and the liberal wing of the Democratic Party has thus far refused to forgive her for it.
