Boehner Seeks Retribution against Those Voting against the Rules

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) acts more like a spoiled brat bully with the “if you don’t do what I want, I’ll get you” attitude resulting in retribution against those Republicans who voted “against a procedural rule that structured how a critical trade package was brought to the House floor last week.” This surrounds the continued contention of the TPP through fast-track authority and the hold up because of the vote against TAA. Mind you, Boehner steered clear of actual action letting Majority Whip Steven Scalise (R-LA) do the dirty work, so far.

The same day Boehner chastised over three dozen Republicans for voting against the trade rule Scalise booted Reps. Cynthia Lummis from Wyoming, Steve Pearce from New Mexico, and Trent Franks from Arizona off the GOP’s vote counting operation. His decision relied on longstanding whip team rules that require members “vote as a team on procedural matters” while remaining free to “vote against leadership on underlying legislation.” Lummis, through a spokesperson, indicates she understands Scalise’s decision, noting there would be repercussions for her vote.

“She understands his decision and departs the Whip organization with nothing but the utmost respect for Mr. Scalise and his entire organization,” Lummis spokesman Joe Spiering said in an email. “Mr. Scalise was trying to include a wide variety of voices from the Republican conference on the Whip Team. Cynthia respected that and continues to respect the difficult job he has.”

According to The Hill:

The large number of GOP defections on Friday’s rule vote nearly scuttled the trade package before it even reached the floor. Thirty-four Republicans, mostly conservatives, voted no, objecting to the way the package was put together.

…

The rule split the Senate-passed trade package into parts, including separate votes on a bill to aid workers displaced by trade and another to grant President Obama fast-track authority to complete major trade deals.

The fast-track bill, known as trade promotion authority, narrowly cleared the House on a bipartisan vote. But because of the rule, it will not be sent to Obama’s desk because Democrats rallied to defeat the aid bill in order to derail the overall package.

Boehner’s response scolded dissenting Republicans like the “whiny crybaby” he is. After a closed door meeting at the Capitol Hill Club with “rank and file” members, Boehner told reporters, “I made it clear to the members today I was not happy about it. You know, we’re a team. And we’ve worked hard to get the majority; we’ve worked hard to stay the majority. And I expect our team to act like a team, and frankly, I made it pretty clear I wasn’t very happy.”

One of the 34 Republicans to vote against the rule, Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID), stated that Boehner had not spoken to him about his vote. Labrador accused the GOP leadership of “catering too much to Democrats” at the expense of losing conservative support. He likened voting against the rule to “committing a capital crime” when it comes to the attitude of the leadership.

US citizens are not surprised with Boehner’s attitude or “crybaby” speeches when he doesn’t get his way. It is his modus operandi. Just as McConnell is Obama’s Senate “witch” boy, Boehner functions as Obama’s House “witch” boy. Boehner needs a “waa”ambulance with a box of hoop cheese to go with his whine. He and McConnell busy themselves with selling out the US citizens with every hare-brained scheme Obama concocts. Sometimes, the only way to “witch” slap Boehner is to break the rules at times.

One wonders where Boehner gets the idea there is some “team” when it comes to Republicans in the House. The GOP establishment ranks are filled with closet Democrats, progressive liberals, RINOs, communist/socialists, and neo-cons, with a few conservatives sprinkled in for flavor. It lacks a “team” flavor. Republicans refuse to come together to follow the Constitution, uphold their oaths, and stop the unilateral dictatorial illegal criminal actions of Obama. It boils down to one distinct thing — vote how Boehner wants you to vote or suffer the consequences from one of his lackeys while he “whines” before the media.

Moreover, where does Boehner get the idea that any of them worked hard to stay in the majority? Boehner sells out to Democrats and Obama every chance he gets. He couldn’t grow a spine if he got a transplant. McConnell vowed to “crush” the Tea Party in the last midterms. Working against the citizenry is not working to maintain a majority. Citizens voted Republican to oust the railroading perpetrated by Obama and the Democrats, not because the Republicans were doing so grand. Republicans turned around and shafted the citizenry. Those actions are conducive to “working hard to stay in the majority”—NOT!

Why do citizens in Ohio continually elect this man to serve in the House? We all know the answer to that one. However, worse still, these establishment morons re-elected him as Speaker of the House. A man who seeks retribution against those who do not go along with him and holds grudges possesses meager authority as a man. It speaks volumes about those in Washington.

Labrador stated it best when he said voting against the rules equates to committing a capital crime where leadership is concerned. Leadership forces representatives to vote “to get along” in order to remain on the team because of the rules. It sounds more like bribery to get a vote through on bad legislation instead of allowing a representative to vote freely. “If you don’t vote along with us, then you are off the team. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.” In some cases, it resembles “Daddy Boehner will get you if you don’t play nice.”

The true capital crime rests with Boehner, McConnell, and Republicans who have violated their oaths of office, refused to follow the Constitution, and work to assist those who seek to “fundamentally transform America.” The crime is treason and punishable by death.
