As the investigations into what the FBI knew about the anti-Trump efforts of some of their employees continues, it seems that the more we learn the more we realize something ugly has taken place.
Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) says we are seeing corruption at the highest levels of the FBI:

Johnson: “What this is all about is further evidence of corruption, more than bias. Corruption of the highest levels of the FBI. The secret society — we have an informant talking about a group that was holding secret meetings off-site. There is so much smoke here. There is so much suspicion.”

Bret Baier: “Let’s stop there. Secret society? Secret meetings off-site of the Justice Department? You have an informant saying that?”
Johnson: “Correct. Yes. We have to dig into it . . . This is not a distraction. This is bias, potentially corruption, at the highest levels of the FBI. Robert Mueller used to run the FBI. He’s in no position to do an investigation over this kind of misconduct. So I think at this point, we should be looking at [appointing a new] special counsel..
When you see this kind of bias and corruption in the FBI, you have to ask: Are there these type of individuals –highly biased political operatives– burrowed into the Dept. of Justice as well. Does Atty. Gen. Sessions really have a department he can trust?”
Representative Ron DeSantis (R-FL) no longer takes at face value what the agencies tell him about what is going on. In fact, he’s pretty sure they lie to Congress regularly.
We need to find out where the actual devices are that Page and Strzok utilized. There’s no reason they shouldn’t be produced. We need an answer on that. And even if there was some type of glitch the idea that these text messages disappear, that is not the way it works with modern technology. I don’t buy this explanation. We need more.
Think about this too. If the FBI were investigating any one of your listeners and they said, “Oh, documents magically deleted,’ or whatever the FBI was looking for magically deleted. Do you think for one minute that they would be able to get away with it? So similar to the IRS you can’t have a situation where a powerful government agency gets to live under a lower standard.”
‘And what a critical time period in this whole investigation — think about it — the Trump transition, that was when the discredited dossier was produced for the first time and published by the news media. It was also Trump’s early days in the White House, when Mike Flynn was interviewed. Are you telling me they weren’t saying all kinds of stuff in those 50,000 messages?
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) seems to agree with DeSantis and he’s not buying the FBI’s excuse that they “lost” f months of text messages either.
“They’re not just missing text messages from anybody, they’re missing them from two key people — [FBI lawyer Lisa Page and] Peter Strzok, who ran the Clinton investigation, interviewed Huma Abedin, interviewed Sheryl Mills and Hillary Clinton, changed [Hillary’s] now-famous exoneration letter from ‘gross negligence’ which is a criminal standard, to ‘extreme carelessness’ which is not. Peter Strzok who helped run the Russia investigation, interviewed Mike Flynn. That Peter Strzok, who in all these text messages with Lisa Page says we cannot let Trump be elected president, we need an ‘insurance policy,’ he should lose 100 million to zero.
Now we find out five months of text messages between these two individuals come up missing. This is like the dog ate my homework, the excuse they give, this is something that just should not take place.”
