Since man has been under the “powers that be,” the “powers that be” have constantly striven to maintain control through craft. The manner of control used today is primarily (within the United States) accomplished by maintaining the thought process and beliefs of the general populace via the media.
Because this column is not written for idiots that are incapable of discerning the downward slope in morality within this nation as a result of the “entertainment” industry that instructs impressionable youth with “what’s cool,” we will not delve into that subject matter presently; but rather, let us examine how political complacency is maintained…
Noam Chomsky, though he be a liberal, made an exceptionally astute observation when he wrote;
“The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum – even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there’s free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate…” – Chomsky

As I contemplated this statement, I began to become very disgruntled with not only the liberal media, but also with many so-called “conservative” and even “Christian” media outlets. In fact, the more I viewed such “talking heads” like Piers Morgan and Bill O’Reilly, the more convinced I became of the truth of Chomsky’s observation. But they don’t. Why?
I, and I’m sure millions of others, would love to see every candidate before the nation view this one short video before election:
Then have them answer one question; “Do you honestly believe that that was a 757 jumbo jet that hit that building before evaporating after leaving only an 8′ hole?”
But, alas, as in this video, the “powers that be” have already “settled” such a range of debate:
