There are plenty of instances in which ordinary Americans have found reason to be embarrassed for the Democratic Party as of late, not the least of which have occurred out on the campaign trail.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, for example, is a bonafide gaffe ninja, able to sneak mistakes, mistruths, and meandering mishaps into just about any speech or debate answer that he emits. This, combined with a renewed national interest into his possible corruptive influence in Ukraine, have seen Biden steadily decline in recent national polls.
It is this slipping and sliding that likely prompted a couple of Democratic fence-sitters to jump directly into the race: Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick – the latter of which is having a heck of a time attempting to fill a room.
This was the @DevalPatrick event at @Morehouse College right around the time we were told he was 2 minutes away. It was a very empty room. A few minutes later, after the students notified the campaign that there were only a few students there, he cancelled. pic.twitter.com/9T9rmbeI49

The story gets even more embarrassing…
CNN’s Annie Grayer reported that the event organizers asked two students passing in the hallway to attend the event, which was empty, and that Patrick even arrived at the college before canceling:

Student organizers of the event told ABC News that the campaign informed them the governor was late from a previous event and had to make a flight.
The event was scheduled for Wednesday, the same night as the fifth Democrat debate hosted on NBC News.
Patrick’s extraordinarily late entry into the 2020 race appeared, on its face, to be ill-advised. Now, it seems as though we have solid evidence that this is the truth.
