Election 2016: A Turning Point or Loss of Freedom?

Although few see beyond the two candidates for President, the questions abound about what Freedom would look like under these candidates.  Some see an opportunity for the first woman president, but they do not see the ramifications beyond that. This election year is way more then just a presidential election: this election will determine the balance of the Supreme Court – that is, which way will the court lean on current ideas. Let us take guns–the Second Amendment–since this is a question today, due to the “Radical Islamic Terrorist” attack on the people in Orlando. This is perhaps the worst possible time for our nation because if guns are finally made illegal, only the criminals will have them, since they can get guns from the same place they get their drugs, and crime will skyrocket like it does in Chicago and other major cities that have all but banned guns.

Let’s look at Donald Trump to see what he will do about the Second Amendment. Trump says that the Second Amendment will survive and the replacement judges will not be those who wish to “reform” the United States or the Second Amendment.

Consider Hillary Rodham Clinton‘s opinions on guns and we quickly see that she will place Supreme Court Justices with very liberal ideas that will back her attack upon the Second Amendment and maybe even rule the Second Amendment as unconstitutional.

Let us take a quick look at why the Second Amendment was written, as it still applies today. The following quotes are from those who understood why the Second Amendment was needed.

“A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” – George Washington

“…but if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights…” – Alexander Hamilton

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States” – Noah Webster in ‘An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution’, 1787

These men all state that arms belong to the populace, and that when the government tries to become tyrannical, the people can stop that with their weapons. Today more than ever, we have to elect an individual who will place judges in the Supreme Court who will honor the Constitution. Just this year, Obama wanted to place a judge on the bench who does not abide by the Constitution and does not like the Second Amendment. We showed this bias in an article about Merrick Brian Garland. This man does not represent the Constitution and gives an idea of what Hillary Rodham Clinton would place on the Supreme Court, should she win.

In the next 4 years, the Supreme Court will be tasked with a revocation of the ideology of the Second Amendment, the rules of the EPA, education, and many other ideas so that Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Democrats/Socialists can attempt to remove parts of the Constitution to install a Socialistic ideology. This is real and can be seen in the ideas of Saul Alinsky and Hillary Rodham Clinton, as can be seen in an article from a while back.

When questioned about the Second Amendment, Donald Trump stated:

“The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.”

Donald Trump also stated in the same paper:

“The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.

It’s been said that the Second Amendment is America’s first freedom. That’s because the Right to Keep and Bear Arms protects all our other rights. We are the only country in the world that has a Second Amendment. Protecting that freedom is imperative.”

Now, see what Hillary Rodham Clinton has stated on the Second Amendment.

June 2000: Clinton endorses a bill introduced by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) that would requiire licensing and registration for handguns. “I stand in support of this common-sense legislation to license everyone who wishes to purchase a gun,” she says. “I also believe that every new handgun sale or transfer should be registered in a national registry, such as Chuck is proposing.”

Hillary Clinton wanted a national registry, but look at what happened in 1932, when Germany had a national registry: they took all the guns away from those who had legally owned them. Hillary has placed great concern here because many people who own guns use them for sport and hunting, or, as many do, for self preservation where no government can actually protect them from an invader. But Hillary Clinton did not stop here; she has a list of anti-gun quotes.

August 2000: Clinton endorses a DLC position statement that says the government should “require ‘smart gun’ technology to prevent use of firearms by unauthorized persons.”

January 2008: Asked during a Democratic presidential debate whether “you’ve backed off a national licensing [and] registration plan,” Clinton says, “Yes.” She avers that “we need to enforce the laws that we have on the books” but adds, “I would also work to reinstate the assault weapons ban. We now have, once again, police deaths going up around the country, and in large measure because bad guys now have assault weapons again.”

April 2008: “I respect the Second Amendment. I respect the rights of lawful gun owners to own guns, to use their guns, but I also believe that most lawful gun owners whom I have spoken with for many years across our country also want to be sure that we keep those guns out of the wrong hands. And as president, I will work to try to bridge this divide, which I think has been polarizing and, frankly, doesn’t reflect the common sense of the American people. We will strike the right balance to protect the constitutional right but to give people the feeling and the reality that they will be protected from guns in the wrong hands….

“What I favor is what works in New York. You know, we have a set of rules in New York City and we have a totally different set of rules in the rest of the state. What might work in New York City is certainly not going to work in Montana. So, for the federal government to be having any kind of, you know, blanket rules that they’re going to try to impose, I think doesn’t make sense.”

May 2014: “I think again we’re way out of balance. We’ve got to rein in what has become almost an article of faith that almost anybody can have a gun anywhere at any time. And I don’t believe that is in the best interest of the vast majority of people.”

June 2014: “I believe that we need a more thoughtful conversation,” Clinton says while promoting her memoir on CNN. “We cannot let a minority of people—and that’s what it is, it is a minority of people—hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people.” She says she favors “background checks that work” and twice refers erroneously to mass shooters with “automatic” weapons.

Even recently, we heard her make a statement on national television that, if elected as president, she will rein in the NRA. This mean she will stop the NRA from making law suits, making opposite points of view, and all other actions to keep the meaning of the Second Amendment in place and as a right that the government cannot take away.

It is because of these ideas on the Second Amendment alone that Hillary Clinton would be the wrong candidate for president, and we have not gotten into her lies, which is an entire article by itself.

If the United States has 98 million plus gun owners, it is imperative to all those gun owners who vote to vote against Hillary Clinton and vote for Donald Trump, based upon their words alone. Others running may have the same ideas as Donald Trump, but are way less likely to be elected.

This election is the most important election in the history of the United States and could well be a turning point in our freedom and the loss of even more freedoms we take for granted. We are in a place of time that will determine the future of our nation, whether our nation will remain free or whether it will become a Socialist/Communist nation. It really is that important and that just lies with the Supreme Court and not what else could be done by making Congress totally useless…yes, that could get even worse than it is now.
