The Jeffrey Epstein saga, full of salacious and sensational stories, has captured the imagination of the nation…and its anger.
The multi-millionaire, (maybe billionaire), has been again arrested in connection to the exploitation of female children for sexual purposes. In 2008, Epstein escaped true justice after being handed a sweetheart deal by Florida prosecutors, including Alex Acosta, who later briefly became the US Labor Secretary before being ousted due to his treatment of the convicted pedophile.
Now, it looks much more certain that Epstein will be going away for a long, long time, as dozens of accusers continue to come forward to add their evidence to the pile.
As with any case of this size, the internet conspiracy theories are running rampant. Epstein, who is well connected in Hollywood and politics, has drawn massive interest from those looking to delve deeper into the world of underground sex trafficking. As such, many believed that Epstein would either end his own life in jail or be “suicided” by those who need him to remain silent for their own sake.

Those theories got a massive boost this week.
Accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein is on a suicide watch after the wealthy financier was found mysteriously injured in his cell in a federal jail in New York City, WNBC-TV reported Wednesday night.
Epstein, who was arrested in early July on federal charges, was on the floor of his cell in a fetal position when he was discovered, sources told NBC. He was semi-conscious and had marks on his neck when he was found.
Epstein may have tried to hang himself in the lower Manhattan lockup, according to sources who spoke with WNBC-TV.
Not everyone agrees, however.
But another source said Epstein’s injuries were not serious, and raised the possibility that he may have used the incident to try obtain a transfer from the jail.
A fourth source who spoke with NBC said that officials have not ruled out the chance that Epstein was assaulted in the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
This incident has raised another strange specter in the world of internet conspiracy theories, as #ClintonBodyCount began trending on Twitter.
Americans waking up to check Twitter were greeted with the trending hashtag “#ClintonBodyCount.” Referencing a long-running conservative conspiracy theory, its re-emergence has of course been blamed on ‘Russian bots.’
The hashtag is familiar to anyone immersed in the murkier ends of American right-wing culture: think late night talk radio and dog-eared copies of ‘None Dare Call it Conspiracy’ passed around backwoods militia meetings.
Coined by writer and conspiracy theorist Danny Casolaro in the late 1980s, the phrase has since been used by conservatives to link the mysterious deaths of people in some way connected to Bill and Hillary Clinton, like the 1993 suicide of White House Deputy Counsel Vince Foster, and the fatal armed robbery of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich in 2016.
There is no evidence that Epstein’s incident has anything to do with the Clintons, but that hasn’t stopped Twitter users from discussing the possibility.
