Rural hospitals say ‘medicare for all’ would end up ‘closing our doors.’
This would just be the start of many problems. It’s not just rural hospitals either. The major hospitals would have to severely ration care or go under too. It would just take longer for it to happen.
Liberals don’t care what the public really wants and they proved it when they passed Obamacare.
The best socialized medicine has to offer are fewer choices, fewer doctors, and fewer hospitals too. Oh, and fewer patients getting the care they need to survive in any sort of timely fashion.
Adopting a single-payer government health care program that covers all Americans would force more rural hospitals to close, according to hospital administrators from Texas to Maine.
Universal health care — also known as “Medicare for All” — is a long way from becoming law. But the issue is already dividing Democrats trying to unseat President Trump in the 2020 election.
Some progressive front-runners like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders say they’d be willing to do away with private insurance in favor of a government plan.
Moderates have balked at that idea — and at the price tag.
Here’s how former Rep. John Delaney put it during the Democratic debate in June: “If you go to every hospital in this country and you ask them one question, which is, ‘How would it have been for you last year if every one of your bills were paid at the Medicare rate?’ Every single hospital administrator said they would close.” More
Remember when the Democrats said that, single-payer government insurance wasn’t their ultimate goal? I remember that so well, just like I recall Barack Obama saying: ” If You Like Your Health Care Plan, You Can Keep It.” It was all LIES then, it’s all LIES now.
A hidden fact of medical costs is that neither Medicare nor Medicaid cover all the costs of patient services and, of course, the illegals don’t pay anything at all. These expenses have to be covered by overcharging patients with insurance or the facility will go out of business. Sometimes there are too few insured patients and the hospitals shut down anyway.
