House Republicans have been tasked with a difficult and damning duty as of late, being forced to fend off the liberal left’s constant push to impeach President Trump in hearings that are clearly lopsided in favor of the Democrats.
Yet, still, they perform nobly, poking a myriad of holes in the Democratic arguments surrounding Donald Trump’s supposedly inappropriate behavior when it comes to the subject of Ukraine. It’s a grind, no doubt, but they are up to the task.
They’ve worked endlessly to explain to the American people that Trump’s conservations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky were nothing more than attempts to reel in the rampant blanket of corruption occurring in his nation, and not some sort of needling of a political rival who is swiftly slipping downward in the polls.
It seems now that the GOP’s work is even causing some Democrats to take pause.
Take Rep. Tom Reed of New York, who said the following while appearing on Fox News:
Reed stated, “I’m hearing not about Republicans breaking…for impeachment. I’m hearing about Democrats voting against going forward with impeachment. That is newsworthy today.”
Reed didn’t give any names, but added, “I’ll tell you, that list is growing by the hour here, as this unfolds, in real time.”
This statement comes just days after rumors emerged regarding a possible move away from impeachment, with some Democrats openly considering the idea of censuring the President instead. This possibility was quickly tamped down by Democratic leadership, however, who are now throughly and inexorably invested in impeachment.
