Let me be clear that the following is just an indication of how establishment Republicans are no better than Democrats. As if it wasn’t bad enough that the National Defense University will be awarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with the American Patriot award this November for “defending our nation,” now it is being reported that former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush will be awarding Clinton with the 2013 Liberty Medal on September 10 in Philadelphia.
Bush, who is the chairman for the National Constitution Center, will be honoring the Clinton for her career in public disservice, I mean service, and the advocacy efforts on behalf of women, an obvious reference to helping women murder their unborn children among many other things.
“Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy,” the former Florida governor said in a statement announcing the award. “These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this year’s Liberty Medal.”
“The Liberty Medal recognizes individuals who have furthered the ideals of freedom, democracy, and equality, often against great odds,” said National Constitution Center President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen. “Hillary Clinton has devoted her life to expanding opportunities for ‘We the People’ not just in this country but around the globe.”
“Hillary Clinton’s lifelong commitment and sense of civic duty is admirable and a reminder of the importance of actively participating in our democracy,” said Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett (R). “The Liberty Medal is another defining moment in a lifetime of moments for the former Secretary of State and is justly deserved.”
“As a life-long public servant, elected official, advocate and civic leader, Hillary Clinton has championed critical issues which she passionately cares about, collaborated with colleagues across the political spectrum, and worked on behalf of every American,” said Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter (D). “She is a most deserving addition to the list of renowned men and women who have been awarded the Liberty Medal. I am thrilled the National Constitution Center has chosen to honor her contributions and achievements.”
Frankly, all those comments make me sick!
According to the NCC:
“Established in 1988 to commemorate the bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution, the Liberty Medal is awarded annually to men and women of courage and conviction who strive to secure the blessings of liberty to people around the globe. The medal was first administered by the National Constitution Center in 2006, when Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton were honored for their bipartisan humanitarian efforts on behalf of the victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia and the hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. Other past Liberty Medal recipients include Nelson Mandela, Shimon Peres, Kofi Annan, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Bono. Six recipients of the medal have subsequently won the Nobel Peace Prize.”
Last year’s recipient was Muhammad Ali.
From the looks of things, again, this is nothing more than trying to present Clinton in a positive light and ignoring her blatant incompetence and putting American lives at risk while she was “serving.” You are awarding a known liar and criminal. I didn’t even bring up all of the scandals, including murder, under her husband’s presidency. That’s not public service, it’s criminal activity.
Furthermore, since Jeb Bush is considering a presidential run in 2016 and so is Hillary, I’m just letting everyone know up front that if the GOP decides this is the man to run in 2016, it will be shown that he is a ringer in order to get Clinton elected, just like Romney was. In fact, should the GOP decide they are going to run another RINO, they can count on me and others exposing them just as much as I will their Democrat opponent. They should have learned from the last three or four times around.
Finally, speaking of Romney, now the New Hampshire Republican Party is having him raise money for them. Again, didn’t you guys learn anything?
The stupidity of the Republican Party to implode the way they are and surround what is expected to be the 2016 Democrat presidential nominee with kisses and hugs and medals is beyond me, but then it should come as no surprise as it seems this is just what they want. Establishment Republicans are just as eager to sell the American people out as are the socialist Democrats.
