Last week, the Obama Administration devised a “deal” for a potential Mideast peace agreement. One sided from the start, the agreement was that Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard would be released from prison in the United States in “exchange” for 400 Palestinians to be freed from Israeli jails. In doing the math, that is one spy for four hundred Muslim terrorists. In a deal that was sure to fail, the Obama Administration condemned Israel for the “impasse.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week he would not release the prisoners, stating that peace will not come “not at any price.” The Obama Administration expects Israel to give unilaterally, and get nothing in return. Using the release of Jonathan Pollard was the perfect pawn to get Israel to act and release Palestinian prisoners, but devious plans have a way of backfiring.
US Secretary of State John Kerry said Tuesday that both Israelis and Palestinians were responsible for the current crisis in peace talks, but appeared to allocate the lion’s share of the blame to Jerusalem.
At the same time, he expressed hope that the two sides would continue to negotiate, but also warned that there was a “limit” to how much effort the US government could invest in the process if the two parties weren’t serious about negotiating a pact.
“Both sides wound out in a position of unhelpful moves,” Kerry said at a hearing of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, delineating what he said led to the current impasse.
“The prisoners were not released by Israel on the day they were supposed to be released and then another day passed and another day, and then 700 units were approved in Jerusalem and then poof — that was sort of the moment,” Kerry said.
John Kerry confirmed the obvious. The Obama Administration condemns Israel for not doing their part in this disastrous “peace agreement.” He skillfully mentions that both sides are responsible for the current crisis, but then hits the target of his animosity. This is Israel’s fault. What about the release of Jonathan Pollard? President Barack Obama had never “decided” on his release when this “deal” was discussed. In other words, he has no intention of releasing Pollard. But how could the Obama Administration actually use Jonathan Pollard as a bargaining chip when they do not have Israel’s best interests at heart? The Obama Administration means to cut Israel, and to make Her bleed.
To use Pollard’s own words he, “decried the release of terrorists by Israel and warned that to do so would, “dishonor its dead”, “betray its bereaved” and “disgrace its citizenry” by the “release of unrepentant murders”. He called such a move an “affront to human decency” for “political expediency.”
But the Obama Administration never condemns the Palestinian failures in the process. Full condemnation goes back to Israel always.
On April 1, the Israel Lands Authority reissued a call for tenders for 708 homes in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo, which is located beyond the 1967 lines and was annexed by Israel.
Later that same day, PA President Mahmoud Abbas signed 15 letters of accession to multilateral treaties and conventions, in what Israel said was a clear breach of Ramallah’s commitment not to take unilateral steps to advance their statehood bid so long as the talks were ongoing.
“The treaties were unhelpful, and we made that crystal clear to the Palestinians,” Kerry said at the Senate hearing.
He also said that Palestinians recognition of Israel as a Jewish state should be part of a final peace agreement, but added that the step would likely only be achieved at the very end of the process and not at the outset. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has in recent months elevated the demand for such Palestinian recognition to that of a core issue.
The treaties were “unhelpful” is the understatement of the century. The “Palestinians” took unilateral action in seeking statehood by “signing on to join 15 international bodies, reversing their commitment not to seek international recognition as a state.” This is egregious and abhorrent. The audacity of John Kerry saying that the “Palestinians” do not have to recognize Israel as a Jewish state until the “end of the process” proves the Obama Administration’s devious intentions toward Israel. Obama plays for the Muslim team, which means to destroy Israel. The truth should be clear to anyone at this point what master Obama serves.
The very fact that the United States offered to release him just a few days ago makes this perfectly clear. Jonathan Pollard, an American citizen, spied for Israel in the United States. He committed a crime, was arrested on November 21, 1985, and was deservingly sent to prison. But Jonathan has now entered his 30th year in prison. This, for spying for an ally! Others, who were arrested for spying against enemy countries have been jailed and released in the interim.
It is clear that justice has been served, and the offer to release him this week is proof positive that Jonathan does not hold any secrets which could damage the security of the United States.
The Pledge of Allegiance ends with the words “with liberty and justice for all.” Given the fact that top US officials have been clear that justice has already been served in Pollard’s case, Jonathan is being denied both justice and liberty. As long as Jonathan Pollard continues to rot away in his cell, saying that pledge with the words “for all” is simply a lie.
Yes, the idea of justice “for all” is a lie in Obama’s America. The Obama Administration condemns Israel for a peace impasse, when they’re the ones brokering disaster. They mean to destroy Israel. Offering Jonathan Pollard’s release was a tactic, a ploy. But as he knows all too well, releasing Palestinian terrorists in exchange for him, would be disastrous for Israel. But of course, any failure is Israel’s fault, when dealing with vicious saboteurs on all fronts.
