Home » Huckabee/Gowdy Town Meeting: Gowdy Finally Answers Why There Have Been No Articles of Impeachment (It’s Not Because of Joe Biden)
On Monday night, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) hosted a Town Hall meeting at the Anderson Civic Center. The meeting featured Presidential candidate Governor Mike Huckabee and special guest U.S. Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC). Several hundred people came out to hear candidate Huckabee and to submit questions to him, but it was Gowdy’s comment near the end that confirmed to us why the current usurper in the White House has not been impeached.
Huckabee discussed several issues pertaining to the presidency. One of the first things he addressed was balancing the budget and said he would do this through a flat tax so that no one can get around paying taxes, including illegal aliens.
He then stressed the importance of securing the border.
“We have to get control of the border,” he said. “After the border is secure only then can we deal with the illegal aliens that currently reside in America.”
The question was then raised by an audience member, “How many people should we let come to America?”
“It is not a matter of how many are coming to America. It is why they are coming,” stated Huckabee. “If you are coming for free food, free healthcare and free living then you can go somewhere else!”
The topic then turned to healthcare. Huckabee acknowledged that the current healthcare system had issues proclaiming, “Eighty percent of healthcare money is spent on chronic disease and to cure the disease is better than treating it, just like polio.”
He went on to explain that he would dramatically reform the healthcare system. However, no one asked where in the constitution the government has been given authority to even be involved in healthcare has.
This lead into another question by the audience of whether he was pro-life or pro-abortion. Huckabee did not avoid the question answering boldly, “The person with downs syndrome is just as important as the captain of a football team. Life begins at conception!”
The tone shifted when a man posed a question to Representative Gowdy asking, “Knowing what we know about this administration, why has not one article of impeachment been drafted by a Republican led Congress?”
Trey responded, “We don’t have 57 votes so why try to impeach someone that won’t get impeached and then he gets to play the victim. We don’t even have 50 votes.”
Huckabee then concluded the Town Hall meeting by declaring, “We cannot be a free people if we are not a moral people… If we acknowledge Him, repent and turn from our wicked ways our nation will be healed!”
Editor’s Note: Since this impotent Congress can’t muster the votes on impeachment, why does Gowdy go through the dog and pony show of investigations into Fast and Furious, the IRS targeting, Benghazi and a ton of other scandals? Wouldn’t the purpose be to get to the bottom of things, and if so, would they not lead a trail straight to the White House? What then? Will Gowdy just throw his hands in the air and wave ’em like he just don’t care? It seems that is exactly what is going to happen. And here I was taking Gowdy’s word that it was because Joe Biden was vice president (Yes, that is sarcastic).
As for Huckabee’s final statement, I wholeheartedly agree. God would fight our enemies and destroy them before our eyes, if only we would repent.
