Hunter Biden Ukraine Inquiry Begins as Senators Ask Treasury for Documents

The idea of impeaching a President used to be terrifying.  It used to be somber and sober and scary.

But all that has changed, thanks, no doubt, to the constant conversations on the subject that have permeated the political atmosphere in America over the course of the last three years.  The Democrats have been nearly obsessed with the idea of removing Trump from office, thereby nullifying the will of the American voters in 2016.

As such, we have been desensitized to impeachment, and we have allowed the Democrats to claim it as their own.  This emboldened House Intel Chair Adam Schiff and his cronies, and the “resistance” was soon drafting a resolution that would severely limit the scope of the impeachment inquiry.

There would be no talk about the potential corruption within the Ukraine that could have piqued President Trump’s interest, only allowing Americans a tiny fraction of the truth with which to make up their minds.

This was unacceptable to Senator Lindsey Graham, who was soon conjuring his own investigation into the matter.  That effort has now taken its first steps.

Two GOP Senate chairmen are asking for the Treasury Department to hand over any documents related to Hunter Biden and a Ukrainian energy company amid an ongoing impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

In a letter dated Nov. 15, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) asked for “suspicious activity reports” involving former Vice President Joe Biden‘s son, Reuters reported Friday.

The documents do not include findings about any illegal activity itself but are filed by financial institutions when money laundering or fraud is suspected. It is unknown if any such reports exist involving Hunter Biden, and the GOP letter did not include any evidence that Hunter Biden engaged in any activity that would be covered in such reports, according to Reuters.

There are concerns regarding both nepotism and possible political corruption in the case of Hunter Biden’s cushy position on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.
