The Illinois Supreme Court refuses to throw out charges against the former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett that accuse him of staging a racist, homophobic assault against himself and denied his effort to remove the special prosecutor.
His lawyers argued that Cook County Circuit Judge Michael Toomin overstepped his authority and misinterpreted the law when he ordered the appointment of a special prosecutor, in an emergency petition.
The Illinois Supreme Court won’t dismiss charges against actor Jussie Smollett.
The court ruled Friday that Smollett can be charged with inventing a hate crime hoax last year that created considerable media interest and a highly publicized investigation by Chicago police, Fox News reported. Smollett, whose career went into steep decline after he was accused of staging the incident, also wanted the special counsel in his case removed but the court rejected that request too.
Smollett’s lawyers attempted to convince the court that Cook County Circuit Judge Michael Toomin exceeded his responsibilities by ordering that a special prosecutor be appointed to assess Smollett’s actions. More
This can’t be allowed to be dismissed. Making false accusations is SERIOUS. We have people that could have been dragged into this occurrence that were INNOCENT…The police and courts have too many REAL cases, to be distracted by False Charges.

Sooner or later Jussie Smollett is gonna have to face the fact that he’s the one that committed a hate crime against himself. Not only should he be charged, but he should have a “hate crime” label attached to his charges, and should serve additional time for it.
There should be consequences for this hoax….for all involved. It’s way beyond Jussie.

Aw, poor Jussie, you broke the law and now they want to prosecute you. How dare they, that seems so unfair. They should forget about your racist slander and the staging of your attack, right? Poor Jussie.
