John Kerry's False Predictions: The Security Of Our Nation Is At Hand

Ah yes, the time of year when the calendar gives way to the beginning of the next year. A time for reflection; a time for a look back at this year, and the previous years leading up to it, that got us where we are today.

Unfortunately, aside from the personal stories of faith, family and quiet personal lives, it seems liberty-loving Americans don’t have much to reflect on in the past several years that doesn’t deserve an instance of a Pepto chaser. While I certainly do not have enough computer memory to list all the ways our government has grown in it’s Marxist stronghold over a once free people, I can certainly pick on one.

And honestly, who doesn’t like picking on John Kerry. Seriously. If there was anything the man had said or done that wasn’t a complete lie or comical, it would be funny. Since he doesn’t have any real power, you know, like representing the US in foreign policy, he’s just all fun and games. Oh wait. He’s going to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State now.

How does one fill shoes so manly? How about a dazzling review of his Presidential campaign of character in which he lied about his own military service, or the conduct of the Swift Boat veterans? No, we already heard that one. How about we unwrap a beauty of a little package of lies from only a few years back? One full of distortions, fear mongering and false-predictions on what global warming will do to us? Sounds fun! Are you ready for the fun?

From the Business Insider, here comes a little ditty on what then Senator, now Secretary of State nominee, said on the necessity of his 2009 push for climate change legislation, in his effort to compare the need to the need for action regarding the 9/11 warnings:

On August 6, 2001, President George W. Bush famously received an intelligence briefing entitled, “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” Thirty-six days later, al Qaeda terrorists did just that.

Scientists tell us we have a 10-year window — if even that — before catastrophic climate change becomes inevitable and irreversible. The threat is real, and time is not on our side. (I’m no numbers wizard, but the “if that” should mean that BY 2019 we are finished. It’s already looming on 2013…we better get busy on that climate change policy, folks!)-parentheses mine

Facts, as John Adams said, are stubborn things. Here are a few you need to know: Atmospheric carbon-dioxide levels have risen 38% in the industrial era, from 280 to 385 parts per million (ppm). Scientists have warned that anything above 450 ppm — a warming of 2 degrees Celsius — will result in an unacceptable risk of catastrophic climate change.

The truth is that the threat we face is not an abstract concern for the future. It is already upon us and its effects are being felt worldwide, right now. Scientists project that the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer of 2013. Not in 2050, but four years from now. (Hey folks..has the arctic melted yet? Maybe Kerry should go there and visit, dropped by a helicopter, without a coat to find out if he’s so certain of this “fact”)

Make no mistake: catastrophic climate change represents a threat to human security, global stability, and — yes — even to American national security. (Not radical Islam and threats to the 2nd Amendment and it’s counter to Tyranny, but a theoretical climate change).

Climate change injects a major new source of chaos, tension, and human insecurity into an already volatile world. It threatens to bring more famine and drought, worse pandemics, more natural disasters, more resource scarcity, and human displacement on a staggering scale. We risk fanning the flames of failed-statism, and offering glaring opportunities to the worst actors in our international system. In an interconnected world, that endangers all of us. (Wow)

The individual data points may sometimes be murky. (Murky..code word, for I have no idea what I am talking about) But the pattern they create is irrefutably clear: We don’t know if Hurricane Katrina was caused by climate change, but we do know that we are rapidly heading for a world where climate change causes worse Katrinas. (Yes, it’s called prophetic happenings. Where we signs in the Heavens and the Earth. Get ready, it’s about to get a whole lot hotter for some among us) We don’t know with certainty whether climate change pushed Darfur over the edge, but we do know that it will cause more tension just like we’ve seen in Darfur.

Once you accept the science, (accept it, folks. Don’t question, don’t demand proof when the predictions are proven false..just accept it) it’s clear that such massive environmental change will create dislocation, destruction, chaos, and conflict. And history teaches us that we are deluding ourselves if we think that we are insulated from world events.

Unfortunately, not everyone in Washington appreciates the stakes. It’s tragic that we live at a time when if one were to dismiss the threat of terrorism, you’d be sent home in the next election. But there are no similar political consequences if you dismiss the science or the threat of climate change. This winter, delegates from 192 nations will gather in Copenhagen to create a new global climate treaty. Between now and then, the United States Congress is expected to act on climate legislation.

The decisions we make in coming months will determine whether we meet this challenge head-on and prevail or if we are to suffer the worst consequences of a warming planet.

This time we have to connect the dots before we face catastrophe.

You can’t get more dire than this, folks. We had better act. We simply cannot continue to carry on in a free capitalist society this way. We need to be regulated, socialized, prevented from ourselves.

Any question about what Kerry’s first order of business will be as Secretary of State? Selling this garbage nationally and abroad? All the jokes aside, can the US survive Agenda 21? More aggressive and widespread Cap and Trade perhaps? Keep your eyes peeled, folks. Americans will conveniently forget his dire predictions gone wrong, and will likely be legislated, regulated and taxed for their part of breathing, in the very near future.

How did you like that walk down memory lane?
