I told you about Maryland Delegate Mike Smigiel calling on gun dealers to start releasing firearms on July 3 that were purchased by Maryland citizens who have been waiting on the Maryland State Police to follow through on background checks that should be taking 7 days, but are taking much longer. Well, now that Colorado Socialists have pushed through their sweeping gun legislation, a gun company is coming to the rescue and will be giving away 1,500 30-round magazines on Saturday at an event it calls “Farewell to Arms” Freedom Festival.
Who is this company, you ask? Magpul Industries. Where can you get one of these 30-round magazines? According to FreeColorado.net, the event will be held at the following location:
Infinity Park, 4599 East Tennessee Avenue, Glendale, CO 80246
The time is from 4pm until 8pm. The first 1,500 people through the gate will receive a free Magpul Gen 2 MOE 30-round magazine featuring either the Free Colorado or Boulder Airlift design, courtesy of Magpul Industries. Tickets are going fast for this event, according to the Magpul Facebook page.
There will also be food, live music and the company says it will be delivering the magazines via helicopter.
Magazines will be available for purchase after the first 1,500 are given away, with proceeds given to legal efforts to overturn the law that’s being by 55 Colorado sheriffs.
This is in response to the magazine ban, which is one of several new gun control laws that will be in effect July 1, 2013. Along with this law, Colorado will also see universal background checks for all firearms transfers which will also require gun buyers to pay for those checks and other measures.
Governor John Hickenlooper signed into law the sweeping gun control legislation back in March. The irony came in May, when Hickenlooper extended a stay of execution for Nathan Dunlap, who murdered four people in cold blood with a gun and then attempted to kill another. However, immediately following Hickenlooper’s signing the gun control legislation, Coloradans set their sights on recalling anti-gun lawmakers.
The first to get his name on the recall list was Senator John Morse, who had 16,000 signatures presented to recall him. Next up was Senator Angela Giron, who had 13,500 citizens who are demanding her recall. Efforts are currently underway to recall Governor Hickenlooper as well.
Magpul employs about 200 people and contributes about $85 million to Colorado’s economy.
My hat is off to Magpul for stepping up and encouraging the citizenry to keep themselves prepared despite the tyrants they are living under. Hold onto your guns and your magazines Colorado!
