This latest incarnation of the Democrats’ “impeachment inquiry” has been as vitriolic and partisan as ever, thanks in no small part to House Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s secretive and clandestine behavior.
Up until this point, (and likely for another week or so), Schiff and his fellow Democrats have chosen to do their work in the dark, away from the prying eyes of the American electorate. Furthermore, with Schiff having the final say as to what information goes public from these hearings, it’s as though those in favor of impeaching Donald Trump have a direct conduit to the nation’s psyche.
The obvious nature of this railroading rhetoric has galvanized the partisan nature of this recent push to reverse the 2016 election, with only a few small examples – one being Republican Senator from Utah Mitt Romney.
Romney has been the most vocal anti-Trump voice on the right side of the aisle, which is nothing new for the failed 2008 presidential candidate, and his years of “resistance” drivel have earned him a poor reputation among the American people.
An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday found that only 18 percent of Americans adults have a favorable view of Sen. Romney.
The survey found that only two percent of Americans had a “very positive” view of Utah’s junior senator, 16 percent had a somewhat positive view, 37 percent were neutral, 19 percent had a somewhat negative view, 19 percent had a very negative view, and seven percent did not or were unsure about Sen. Romney.
This hasn’t always been the case for Mitt.
Back in October of 2012, a similar survey showed that Romney enjoyed a much more respectable standing among Americans, with 47% indicating that they had a positive image of the prominent Republican.
