Is there any end to the lawless, criminal actions of Barack Hussein Obama? Apparently not as he stated on Monday during a speech from the Rose Garden, “I’m beginning a new effort to fix as much of our immigration system as I can on my own, without Congress.” Obama stated that “deputies” would identify “actions my administration can take on our own, within my existing legal authorities, to do what Congress refuses to do and fix as much of our immigration system as we can.” The usurper in chief said he expected their recommendations by the end of the summer and he that he would adopt those recommendations immediately.
This latest usurpation of authority is meeting “resistance,” if you can call any Republican or Congress response as resistance, by House Speaker John “where’s my backbone” Boehner. Boehner accused the President of causing the “humanitarian crisis” by his own actions.
“The president’s own executive orders have led directly to the humanitarian crisis along the Southern border,” stated Boehner. He claimed the president had given “false hope to children and their families that if they enter the country illegally they will be allowed to stay.” According to Boehner, “Additional executive action from this president isn’t going to stem the tide of illegal crossings, it’s only going to make them worse.”
Other GOP leaders echoed Boehner’s stance.
Senator Chuck Grassley, top GOP senator on the Senate Judiciary Committee, remarked, “The crisis at the border is at least partially due to the Obama administration’s lack of enforcement and the President’s own policies. If the Obama administration rewards illegality and fails to enforce the laws or secure the border, we’re going to be back at this same place in 20 years.”
Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, stated, “The administration has neglected our borders and precipitated the current crisis through its executive order. It’s disturbing that this President believes he can be a one man legislative branch when it comes to our immigration laws … he needs to work with Congress and listen to the Courts. Not go it alone. Again.”
With such “strong resistance” from the Republican Party, Obama has his hands full – not!
First of all, what “existing legal authority” does Obama have to take action on his own? Article 2, Sections II and III lists the Constitutional authority of the President. Nowhere in the “legal authority” is the President given the power to enact law, change law or disregard law. Second, the usurper is having “deputies” make recommendations that he will implement as quickly as possible. Who are these “deputies?” Where did they get the authority to make law? What will be the monetary costs associated with this act of lawlessness?
These are the actions of despots, tyrants, kings and single party rule.
However, the bleeding heart liberals and low information voters will cheer and support this move because it’s “humanitarian” in nature and “they are all God’s children.” How convenient for the liberal base to use God when it’s convenient for them when they trample anything else that has to do with God in other areas.
Republicans need to get off the “humanitarian crisis” train started by Obama and his minions. What is happening at the Southern border is an invasion of our republic and nation – no more, no less. Entertaining the notion this is anything other than an invasion lends some credence to the Obama administration rhetoric of the “Dreamer Deluge” or the “humanitarian crisis” spin. It also indicates that, once again, the Republicans are poised to cave to whatever the despotic tyrant occupying the Oval Office wants and does.
Many would argue against the constitutional remedy of impeachment for several reasons: “it would mean Joe Biden would be president;” “the Senate would never convict;” “it’s a waste of taxpayer money because the Senate would never convict;” and, “if we got rid of Obama and Biden, Boehner would be president.” These, at best, are excuses.
Article 2, Section IV of the Constitution of the United States reads, “The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
The Constitution is the law of the land – it either needs to be followed or not. It’s not a buffet to pick and choose what is enforced and what is not based on a “thought” or “belief.” The House has the power of impeachment and control of the purse strings – period, end of story. Regardless of the possibility the Senate would not convict after articles of impeachment are filed, the law of the land must be followed. No one knows the outcome for certain and speculation is no reason to not follow the law. The House can refuse to fund unconstitutional law, unlawful executive orders and criminal actions. If the law of the land is not enforced and remedies provided by that law are not used, what’s the point of having it?
Yes, Boehner has filed a lawsuit against Obama in order to “force” him to follow the law. However, filing a lawsuit against a President for refusal to follow the law is not in the Constitution. Talk about a waste of taxpayer dollars.
Obama has already rejected Boehner’s lawsuit calling it “a stunt while White House press Secretary, Josh Earnest, stated, “the president is not going to be cowed into failing to use the authority that is invested in the presidency ….” Obama has declared himself above the law by “rejecting” a lawsuit, even if it is filed, by Earnest stated the president won’t be “cowed” by it. So, even if the lawsuit is upheld and contains a “cease” order, Obama may refuse to abide by it based on these statements. One can bet the average American wouldn’t get away with that.
Some contend that Republicans refuse to impeach based on being termed “racist,” threatened with the black population “rioting in the streets,” and going down in history as the party who fought against America’s first black president. These are good theories with a good possibility for high probability.
However, none of the “possibilities or probabilites,” or beliefs are reason for not following the law and not taking action against a lawless, criminal president. Obama’s indication to legislate by executive order on the illegal immigration invasion of the United States by altering the immigration law is criminal, lawless and deserving of more from establishment Republicans than verbal chastising, finger pointing blame and stating “he shouldn’t go it alone.”
