Rand Paul Takes Shot At Dem Senators On Foreign Aid – Gets Attacked By RINO

Rand PAC, the political arm of Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) is blasting Democrats for sending billions of dollars to nations that are enemies of the United States. A new TV-ad campaign is hitting swing states in Florida, West Virginia, Ohio, and Missouri.

The ads target Senators Joe Manchin in West Virginia, Bill Nelson in Florida, Sherrod Brown in Ohio, and Claire McCaskill in Missouri.

Here’s the Manchin ad:

The ad aimed at Manchin declares: “They tear down and burn the American flag in Egypt and shout ‘death-to-America’ … Joe Manchin votes to provide U.S. taxpayer aid.”

The ad says that Pakistani radicals “imprison and torture” the “hero” who helped destroy Osama bin Laden, yet it was Senator Manchin who approved sending “billions” of taxpayer dollars.

In Libya, Islamists burn the U.S. Embassy and kill the ambassador. Still Manchin voted “to send more taxpayer money to Libya.”

The ad points out how America faces needs at home and how borrowed money continues to cost us more. It ends with on a hard hitting note:

“Joe Manchin works with Barack Obama to send billions of taxpayer dollars to countries where radicals storm our embassies, burn our flag and kill our diplomats. It’s time to bring our taxpayer dollars home. It’s time to send Joe Manchin home.”

The Senate voted to defeat the measure proposed by Senator Paul that would stop foreign aid to three nations, 81-10. 81-10! That was the vote of our U.S. Senators to take money from us and send it to those who are our enemies.

In fact, not only did they vote it down but one particular Senator, the Senator from my state Lindsey Graham, attacked the ad and Paul’s foreign policy aid bill. Graham has an issue because he is a RINO that voted to continue sending our money to these countries as foreign aid and he’s up for re-election in 2014.

The Charleston Gazette reports,

On Tuesday, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., joined Manchin in a telephone conference call about the controversial ads.

“A lot of debate goes on about foreign aid,” Graham said. “Foreign relations are not a Democrat or Republican issue, but a American issue.

“I very much would like to have a Republican president and a Republican-controlled Senate. But when it comes to foreign policy and the matters of war, I think we need to be bipartisan,” Graham said.

“Most Americans are war weary. We are broke. We are $16 trillion in debt. If I thought we could withdraw from the Middle East and we would be safe, I would do it. But we don’t have easy choices available to us.”

Broke Senator Graham? Then why are you voting to continue sending billions of dollars to enemy nations? He answers:

“Al-Qaida, the Taliban and radical Islamists would like nothing more than to have America withdraw from the region.”

“If we stopped our assistance to Egypt at this point, that would destroy the Camp David accords — the worst thing we could have done to the state of Israel. This new government in Egypt is a work in progress. We cannot write off the largest nation in the Arab world.”

But they do not represent the Libyan government. Most people in Libya want to move forward, not backward. People in Libya want to go a different way. We have to help them.”

Since when did the American people agree to such things? Interesting choice of words Graham uses here “forward, not backward.” Sounds like Graham could campaign for Barack Obama.

“The Rand Paul amendment would have required us to withdraw assistance to these three countries that are critically important to our national security,” Graham said.

Well seeing that it was to cut off foreign aid to Egypt, which is led by the Muslim Brotherhood, Lybia, which Obama helped Al-Qaeda plant their flag at their capital and Pakistan, which may be considered an ally, but apparently housed Osama bin Laden for quite a stretch of time as well, causes me to wonder exactly where Graham’s loyalties actually lie. It seems Graham is more concerned with other nations than he is his own people here in the U.S., including a Senator from his own party.
