Freedom Outpost has previously documented the federal government’s willingness to use taxpayer funds to purchase, for $500, sex toys/erection enhancers that can be had for a tenth of that elsewhere on the internet….or so I’m told, ahem. Give some government bean-counters a $400 hammer and they think everything’s a nail.
Well, now on a more sober note, we learn that the Feds have funded, with your money mind you, a new study of radical Islam. The results have been startling, but only if you’ve been paying attention.
WND.com reports:
A taxpayer-funded study released this week declares that Muslim terrorists are generally misunderstood, don’t want to force their religion on the world and only kill people to protect themselves from victimization by enemies of Islam.

It’s the Muslims who are the victims, you see. They’re just fighting back. Now that we understand this, it’s so much easier to understand stories like this:
Fifty members of a northern Nigerian church were burned to death in their pastor’s house.
The attack by armed gunmen was only the first in a 12-village spree of violence that left over 100 dead in northern Nigeria’s Plateau State, a region that had previously been outside Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram’s operational area and is the largely Muslim Fulani tribesmen’s homeland.
You see? It all makes sense now. Can’t blame people for throwing off their jack-booted oppressors; or, as the case may be, fifty people including women and children gathered peacefully in a home to read their Bibles and pray together. (Reports that the Muslims have said this incident is really about zoning violations, not religious oppression, cannot be confirmed.)
Our helpful government report goes on to list some suggestions for us. Once we understand radical Islam, once we feel their pain, maybe we can all be good liberals and help them calm down. Here’s one hint for us:
“Focus on counteracting or addressing claims of victimage.”
They’ll stop killing people if we’d just all sit down over some bean curd tea, and let them vent their frustrations. Because this has worked so well in our own universities. See how much social progress has been made in America after a couple of generations of Minority Studies Departments and Womyn’s Herstory classes. If only now we could help these extremists work through their own victimhood.
I am reminded of Reagan’s famous dictum, that the scariest statement in the English language is, “We’re from the government, and we’re here to help.”
