On Sunday, the Obama administration, through Attorney General Loretta Lynch, admitted that they planned to redact the transcript of the government’s conversations with Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen. It was a ridiculous move that was roundly criticized, and in the end, the FBI realized their mistake and eventually decided to release the actual transcript… but not before they released a “censored” draft to the nation.
What did the FBI censor? How about the word “Allah” and the names of the MUSLIM terrorist organization that Mateen swore his allegiance to.
Seriously.

Now, most of us know that the word Allah is simply the Arabic translation of “God.” However, in our culture and in our world, whenever we speak (Muslim or not) of the Muslim “god,” we all use the word Allah. It has become a “name” of sorts for the god worshipped in Islam. So, changing it to “God” for an English reading of the transcript is just silly. Also, omitting the name of the Islamic terrorist group that Mateen pledged his allegiance to is also idiotic. The reports about who he had aligned himself with (ISIS) had leaked out in the immediate aftermath of the attack; all of America (and the world) already knew.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) and House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) both mocked and derided the redactions, with McCaul even issuing his own criticism of the Obama administration – which he of course, then redacted.
“The Obama Administration just redacted the [blank] out of the Orlando shooter’s 911 transcripts. I am greatly [blank] at the Administration’s denial of reality. How in the [blank] does censoring this [blank] make us [blank]? ” McCaul said. “This is in line with the Administration’s long string of [blank] of the threat Islamist terror poses to our homeland. The victims and their loved ones deserve justice, and the American people deserve all the facts. The terror threat to our nation cannot be redacted.”
The FBI now claims that it was trying to limit any publicity for the terrorist of ISIS, but c’mon, this reads much more like a directive from the White House who was trying to avoid political backlash to their pro-Muslim policies. This is why the President grew so heated last week when asked why he never speaks of radical Islamic terrorism. It’s why Loretta Lynch did her song and dance about this being a “hate crime” and not a Muslim terrorist attack. It’s why the Obama Justice Department is working so hard to pretend that Omar Mateen had no connection to Islamic radicalism… even though they had investigated him twice before for possible connections, even though his father had once voiced support for the Taliban, and even though he attended a Florida mosque that had been connected to other terrorist activity.
For Obama and the Democrats this is all about political damage control. They haven’t given a second thought to our safety, our security, or the war on terror. This is all about winning the next election and growing the government.
