Trump Wants to Bring Back “Merry Christmas" – I Thought His Faith Was Something Private and Personal

Donald Trump, though being unrepentant and unwilling to acknowledge the need for forgiveness from the God of the Bible, did appeal to the shallowness of conservatives and Christians alike when he was accompanied by Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson and his childhood bible to reclaim Christmas.

The Daily Mail reports:

The reality TV star said he ‘liked me some Trump’ after the Republican presidential candidate called him up to the stage at the Oklahoma State Fair.

Trump had earlier said he was fed up of people saying ‘happy holidays’ instead of ‘merry Christmas’ and insisted this would change if he comes to power.

Just minutes after taking to the platform in Oklahoma City, Trump called Robertson up with him, asking if he ‘loved Trump’.

Willie said: ‘I do like me some Trump, I gotta admit.

‘Here’s the deal. We’re both successful businessmen. We both have pretty big shows on television. We both have wives that are 1,000 times better looking than us, so I like Trump.’

Trump, speaking earlier on Friday in Washington, DC, held aloft a personal copy of the Holy Book, which had a note in from his mother, as well as the address of his boyhood home. He said: ‘I love Christmas. I love Christmas. But you see “Happy Holidays” all over.’

‘I wanna see “Christmas”. Other people can have their holidays, but Christmas is Christmas.

‘I’m for seeing “Merry Christmas.” Remember the expression “Merry Christmas”? You don’t see it anymore.

‘You’re going to see it if I get elected, I can tell you.” Trump said.

While I don’t mind people saying, “Merry Christmas” or anything like that, the immediate question comes to mind, Mr. Trump, I thought that faith was a “personal” thing to you. Why would you promote Christmas, something the Bible never mentions, but people have made up, in order to get the evangelical vote, while snubbing Christians at a recent faith and freedom event? There’s only one answer: money!

Christians complain about the “commercialization of Christmas,” but continue to engage in that commercialization each and every year. Trump will, no doubt, also make lots of money as people travel to his places of business during that time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with making money, but I find it ironic that a holiday that everyone who celebrates it ties it to the birth of Christ, and though Mr. Trump doesn’t want to talk about the Bible in specifics with people, wants to make this an issue.

And, Christians who are too stupid or ignorant to take the bait on this one get what they deserves in Trump.

Don’t forget, Trump was the guy that proclaimed that his faith was something “personal,” while not wanting to actually discuss the Bible and its contents.

I’ve discussed this in a previous rebuke of Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and his ridiculous siding with placing Muslims in the office of president, according to Article VI of the Constitution.

The longer Trump is aloud to speak, not matter the amount of pot stirring he does, the more the American’s public, specifically the dumb downed American Christian public, will continue to feed on the sound bites rather than the substance.
