Home » Trump’s Eligibility Questioned – Panel Dismisses Complaint in Five Minutes

The GOP establishment is hell-bent on taking Donald Trump out, but it seems every time they attack him, he just gains more momentum. Now the billionaire real estate mogul has had his primary ballot challenged by a former Republican Party chairman. However, the panel looked at the complaint and dismissed it.

Former New Hampshire Republican Party chairman Fergus Cullen has challenged Trump’s primary ballot in a complaint filed on Monday with the state’s Ballot Law Commission. Cullen alleges that Trump has not presented evidence that he is a Republican.

“When Mr. Trump filed his Declaration of Candidacy, he was required to ‘swear under penalties of perjury’ that he is a ‘registered member of the Republican Party,’ wrote Cullen. “To my knowledge, Mr. Trump has not presented evidence to the Secretary of State or this Commission that he is a registered member of the Republican Party,” Cullen wrote. “It is my belief that Mr. Trump must present evidence that he is a registered member of the Republican Party because his views, expressed over decades, are inconsistent with the Republican Party Platform and the Republican Party of New Hampshire’s State of Principles and By Laws.”

The Trump campaign fired back. Campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, in a statement to the Union Leader, suggested that Cullen works for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is also running for the GOP nomination.

Cullen claims to not work for Kasich, but has held events for Jeb Bush and Lindsey Graham.

On Tuesday, the New Hampshire Ballot Law Commission dismissed the complaint in under five minutes, giving Cullen just four minutes to speak.

At no point did Mr. Cullen provide evidence to back his claims, but did state that Trump does not represent the views of the Republican Party.

“I’m also here to warn that Donald Trump does not share our democratic values,” he said. “He is a dangerous demagogue …”

With this claim, he was cut off by Commission Chairman Bradford E. Cook and asked what authority the commission had to investigate his claims as they related to the things he was communicating.

“Why are we here?” Cook asked Cullen.

With that, Cook confirmed that Donald Trump is indeed a registered Republican in New York and the commission unanimously voted in support of Trump remaining on the primary ballot.

And, as expected, a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows Donald Trump leading with 25 percent of Republican primary voters in Iowa. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is constitutionally ineligible for the office of president, was a close second with 23 percent. Ben Carson polled at eighteen percent and constitutionally ineligible Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) got thirteen percent.
