When it comes to the unfortunate realties of America, perhaps no single situation is more infuriating than the state of our healthcare system.
Modern medicine has become a racket for many, with corporations having infiltrated all levels of our government through lobbyists and special interest groups, allowing the Big Pharmaceutical industry to treat the citizen of our nation in any manner they so choose. Highly addictive drugs such as opioids are being peddled and pushed by these companies through our doctors, knowing fully well that they are creating long-term customers with their prescription. This is not because these conditions are chronic and long-lasting, (at least not in totality), but because the drugs themselves have the side effect of a powerful addiction that tricks the mind in the very same way that heroin does.
Beyond this terrifying reality, the advent of Obamacare forever altered our healthcare landscape. The mandate for Americans to purchase private health insurance guaranteed that these corporations could do whatever they wish in terms of pricing, driving the cost of staying healthy to the moon.
Today, Americans cite this rising cost of healthcare as one of their most important political topics, and lawmakers have been consistently pressured to make things right for their constituents – but to no avail.

Now, amidst this growing problem, one freshman Congresswoman is pursuing a “lifetime” health care policy – but for immigrants.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said over the weekend that the United States government must have a “lifelong commitment” to illegal immigrant migrants separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border and provide “mental healthcare services” to them “for the rest of their lives.”
Speaking at a town hall event in Queens, New York, Ocasio-Cortez, who has referred to migrant detention centers as “concentration camps,” reportedly argued that the U.S. government must make a “lifelong commitment” to migrant children because “even if you separate a kid from their parents for two days, you have already created life-long lasting trauma.”
“I believe we have responsibility to provide mental healthcare services to those children for the rest of their lives,” Ocasio-Cortez said, according to a Guardian report. “And there are children who have been separated that we have reunified, and it took about a year to reunify some of these kids with their parents. Lifelong trauma for which we, the United States, are responsible… And it chills me to my core to think about 20 years from now, when these kids grow up, the story that they will have about America.”
Ocasio-Cortez has been brutally critical of the plight of migrants in America, offensively claiming that detention centers set up for those awaiting asylum are akin to “concentration camps” – a suggestion that has irked a great many affected by The Holocaust.
